The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan summoned the Russian ambassador in Baku, Mikhail Evdokimov, to discuss the incident that occurred in Kyiv. According to BBC News, during the meeting, a protest was voiced regarding the fall of an Iskander-type missile on the territory of the Azerbaijani embassy, which happened during a drone strike on the capital of Ukraine on November 14 around 01:00.

As a result of the strike, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, a significant part of the embassy wall was destroyed, official vehicles were damaged, and the administrative building and consular section were affected. Diplomats also noted serious damage to the representation complex, which was communicated to the Russian ambassador.

Additionally, Evdokimov was reminded of previous shellings that also violated international law. In particular, this included the Russian airstrike on the honorary consulate of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv in 2022, the impacts of munitions near the embassy's administrative buildings in 2024-2025, and the drone attack on the SOCAR oil depot in the Odesa region in August 2025.

“All these circumstances raise doubts about the intentions behind the missile attacks,” emphasizes the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in its statement.
