Turkish military transport plane crashed on the border of Georgia and Azerbaijan

According to the Anadolu agency, the incident involved a military C130 aircraft that was in the air with a crew and 20 servicemen on board. Currently, search and rescue operations are organized in the crash area.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at a summit dedicated to urbanization issues, reported that the authorities continue to coordinate the actions of rescue services to ensure access to the site of the incident.

Erdoğan expressed his condolences: "With deep sorrow, we report that our military aircraft, which was coming from Azerbaijan, crashed on the border with Georgia. We are making every effort to ensure that rescue teams can reach the crash site. We hope that we can emerge from this tragedy with minimal losses," he noted.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the plane crashed in the Signagi area, approximately five kilometers from the border with Azerbaijan. It was indicated that contact with the aircraft was lost shortly after it entered Georgian airspace, and the aircraft did not send distress signals.
