Kazakhstan lost 480 thousand tons of oil due to attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, – Ministry of Energy

As a result of attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Kazakhstan faced a loss of 480 thousand tons of oil, reported Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov on Thursday in the corridors of Akorda, as Vlast.kz conveys.
“These attacks have certainly affected production volumes. According to current data, the losses amount to 480 thousand tons,” noted Akkenzhenov.
However, he expressed confidence that the planned oil production volumes for the year will be met.
Regarding the restoration of the offshore mooring facilities, the minister reported that MPU-3, which is under repair, is planned to be put into operation by December 15. Restoration work on the damaged facility, which was affected by drone attacks, is aimed at restoring its buoyancy; a decision on the feasibility of further operation will be made later.
“The damage is significant, the breach is three meters by two and a half – these are serious damages,” acknowledged the head of the Ministry of Energy.
In addition, he reiterated that Kazakhstan does not plan to abandon the CPC, as there are no alternatives to this route. Akkenzhenov also reminded that this year it was planned to pump a record 72 million tons of oil through the pipeline, but this figure has been revised and reduced to 68 million tons.
We remind you that earlier the CPC was forced to reduce oil exports, as a key part of its loading infrastructure was damaged as a result of the attacks. Currently, only one of the three offshore mooring facilities is operational – MPU-1, while MPU-2 has sustained serious damage and MPU-3 is undergoing scheduled maintenance.
