During his visit to Vienna, where a meeting was held within the framework of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerbek Kosherbayev, discussed this incident with his Ukrainian counterpart.
Smadiyarov noted that, although he did not participate in the meeting, he was in close proximity and is confident that the issue of KTK was a topic of discussion. He added that no comments would be made on this matter; however, communication with Ukrainian partners continues, and work is being carried out through closed diplomatic channels at the embassy level.
On the morning of November 29, the offshore mooring device of KTK VPU-2 was damaged as a result of an attack by unmanned boats. This consortium transports oil from major fields in Kazakhstan, such as Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan expressed a protest regarding the incident, pointing out that this is already the third case of aggression against a civilian facility. In response, Ukraine noted that its actions were not directed against Kazakhstan.
