In a statement, it was said that the musician passed away peacefully in his sleep.
In his address, the musician noted: "I was recently diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma with metastases to the lungs. This is stage four, and it’s certainly bad news" (quote from Variety).
Despite the severe diagnosis, Arnold remained optimistic but regretfully announced the cancellation of the band's upcoming tour.
3 Doors Down was founded by Arnold in 1996 along with guitarist Matt Roberts and bassist Todd Harrell. In the early days, he not only sang but also played the drums. The first demo, featuring the song Kryptonite, was recorded in 1997, and it was written during Arnold's school years.
This track was re-recorded and included in the debut album The Better Life, released in 2000, where it reached third place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Since the release of the album Away from the Sun, Brad became exclusively the lead vocalist of the band.
