Trump also clarified that he was informed about this incident during a phone call with Putin on December 29. “I don’t like it. It’s bad. I learned about it this morning. President Putin told me that he was attacked. It’s bad. It’s very bad. Don’t forget, I stopped the supply of ‘Tomahawks’ [to Ukraine] because I didn’t want that,” he emphasized.

Furthermore, Trump noted that this incident occurred at a “delicate moment.” “Now is not the right time. There is a difference between aggressive actions when they show aggression and an attack on his home. This is inappropriate. I was very angry when I learned about this from Putin,” the U.S. president added.

When asked about the existence of evidence of the attack from American intelligence services, Trump replied that this issue is still being clarified.

He also stated that he indeed spoke with Putin on Monday morning, not on Sunday as previously reported, according to Anadolu.

“Our conversation was very productive... It was a good dialogue,” he said, adding that there are serious obstacles to peace and “very difficult questions” that need to be resolved. “If we resolve them, you will achieve peace,” Trump concluded.

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on the night of December 29, Ukraine attempted to attack Putin's residence using drones. During the attack, 91 drones were involved, all of which were destroyed, and according to Lavrov, no one was injured, and there was no damage. He did not specify which particular facility was involved, but it is known that the official residence “Dinner,” also known as “Long Beards,” is located in the Novgorod region. Lavrov added that Russia would respond to Ukraine's actions, and the targets and timing of retaliatory strikes have already been determined, but Moscow will not withdraw from negotiations with the U.S. to achieve peace in Ukraine, although it will reconsider its position.

Kyiv, for its part, denied any involvement in the attack on Putin's residence.
