According to Lavrov, on the night of December 28 to 29, Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked the presidential residence in Russia. He claims that 91 drones were shot down, but no data on casualties or damages has been provided.

Lavrov did not provide any evidence to support his claims that these were indeed Ukrainian drones attempting to attack Putin's residence. He added that Russia would take retaliatory measures and has already identified targets. The Russian Foreign Minister also mentioned plans to reconsider Moscow's position in negotiations, considering, in his opinion, Ukraine's shift to a "policy of state terrorism," while emphasizing that Russia does not intend to abandon the negotiation process.

In response, Volodymyr Zelensky characterized Lavrov's statements as false. According to "Interfax-Ukraine," Zelensky links these accusations to a recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and the progress in Ukrainian-American relations.

The President of Ukraine believes that Russia is not interested in ending the conflict and uses such accusations as a pretext. He also expressed concerns that Moscow may be preparing strikes on the government quarter of Kyiv.
