Zelensky characterized the conversation as "substantive and constructive."

“We discussed many aspects, including key issues that could lead to the end of the conflict and prevent a third invasion by Russia, as well as ensure the fulfillment of previously made promises by Russia,” he noted.

The president added that he expects a detailed report from Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of the National Security Council, and Andriy Hnatov, the Chief of the General Staff, regarding the negotiations with the American side. Earlier, Umerov and Hnatov were in Florida, where they met with a U.S. delegation.

According to Axios, the conversation involving Zelensky and representatives of Trump lasted two hours. One source from the publication reported that the discussion of territorial issues turned out to be "difficult." Russia continues to insist on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the part of Donbas they control, while the U.S. "is trying to find new approaches to resolve the situation."

Axios also reports that Whitcoff and Kushner are gathering proposals from both sides and trying to persuade both Putin and Zelensky to make concessions.

New negotiations between Ukraine and the U.S. on peace settlement issues took place on December 4 in Florida. This was the first meeting after Whitcoff and Kushner's visit to Moscow, where they discussed the situation with Vladimir Putin. “During the negotiations, participants discussed the results of the recent meeting between the American side and Russia and possible steps to end the conflict. The Americans and Ukrainians also agreed on key security points and discussed measures necessary to achieve stable peace,” the U.S. State Department said.
