
On February 12, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the country's special forces units on their successful performance at the international competition UAE SWAT Challenge 2026 in Dubai, where the Kazakh teams took first and second places overall, reports The Astana Times.
The Kazakhstan C team became the absolute champion of the tournament, while the Kazakhstan A team won silver. These achievements were made in a highly competitive environment, with 109 teams from 48 countries participating, highlighting Kazakhstan's growing reputation in elite tactical training and international special operations competitions, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, noted that Tokayev highly appreciated the results achieved by the fighters.
“The head of state emphasized the excellent professional, physical, and combat training of our servicemen representing the State Border Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Security Committee, as well as their determination to win and high patriotism,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
In addition to the gold and silver medals, other Kazakh teams also showed commendable results. Kazakhstan B took eighth place, while Kazakhstan D placed twentieth. The women's team "Tomiris" secured the eighteenth position and was recognized as the best among women's teams, outperforming many men's teams from other countries.
According to Smadiyarov, Tokayev stated that the state recognizes the merits of the servicemen, calling their achievements a source of national pride and a confirmation of the high level of training of the Kazakh special forces on the international stage.
