
The official clarifications from the Polish Foreign Ministry state that these recommendations are due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the fact that the Russian authorities have declared Poland a "hostile" state.
Citizens currently in Russia are advised to leave the country using available commercial or private means of transportation, except in cases where their personal, family, or professional circumstances require their presence in Russia.
Furthermore, the ministry noted that the possibilities for consular assistance for Polish citizens in Russia are becoming increasingly limited. This is due to the closure of Poland's consulates in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad, which has led to a reduction in the number of diplomats and consular staff.
“In the event of a sharp deterioration in the security situation, border closures, or the emergence of other unforeseen circumstances, evacuation may become significantly more difficult or even impossible,” the Polish Foreign Ministry emphasized.
