The initiative to hold World Horse Day, proposed by President Khurelsukh Ukhna, was approved at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
This year, World Horse Day will be celebrated for the first time in an official format from July 11 to 13. The events will include exhibitions and conferences dedicated to nomadic culture and environmental protection, as well as the promotion of equestrian heritage.
As part of the preparations for the celebration, the creation of an official logo, slogan, and brand book is planned. Cultural and artistic events will also be held for the international promotion of the event. It is expected that 10,000 riders from 56 countries will participate in the parade, and the budget will be finalized this week.
During the discussion of the capital's budget for 2026, which took place on March 2, it was announced that ₮4.5 billion (approximately $1 million 263 thousand) would be allocated for World Horse Day. As part of the celebration, it is planned to create an equestrian cultural complex and four veterinary assistance centers for horses.
