
The Ambassador of Mongolia to Kuwait, Sergelen Purev, held a meeting with Badr Al-Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon, on February 23, 2026, in Doha. This was reported by the federation through its Facebook page (Qatar Equestrian Federation & Modern Pentathlon).
During the negotiations, the ambassador presented various traditional equestrian sports of Mongolia, including horse racing and racetrack competitions. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and experience exchange in these areas. Sergelen also informed Al-Darwish about the resolution proposed by the President of Mongolia to establish a "World Horse Day," which was adopted at the UN General Assembly. He invited representatives from Qatar, among whom were co-authors of the resolution, to participate in the World Equestrian Festival scheduled for July 11-13.

Badr Al-Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon, emphasized that Qatar is a leader in equestrian sports and the organization of international events. He expressed interest in cooperating with Mongolia, including athlete exchanges, joint training, and organizing competitions. Al-Darwish also confirmed his participation in events dedicated to "World Horse Day."
