Mass protests in Iran. The number of dead has risen to 200 - Time
According to clarifications, more than 200 bodies have been registered in hospitals in Tehran, most of which died from gunshot wounds.
However, other sources, particularly the Iranian human rights organization Human Rights Activists News Agency, provide different estimates. Their report mentions at least 65 fatalities over the past 13 days, including 50 protesters and 14 law enforcement officers. This organization’s data also emphasizes that the deceased have been identified.
Time notes that they have no means to independently verify the accuracy of these figures but emphasizes that HRANA only counts those whose identities have been established.
It is worth noting that the internet has been down in Iran for over 60 hours, and mass protests related to the economic crisis and the decline of the national currency have been ongoing since late December 2025.
