In his video address posted on the social network X (Twitter), Pehlavi called on workers in the transport sector, as well as the oil, gas, and energy industries, to stop their activities. He also urged Iranians to take to the streets on January 10 and 11 at 6:00 PM with national flags.

In his opinion, the goals of the protests have changed.

“Now our task is not just to go out into the streets, but to prepare for the capture and retention of city centers,” he noted.

Pehlavi urged protesters to move towards city centers via different routes, to unite, and to stay on the streets for as long as possible. He also addressed the youth from the "Immortal Guard" and military personnel supporting the opposition "National Cooperation Platform," calling on them to slow down the actions of the repressive apparatus.

The prince expressed his readiness to return to Iran.

“I am preparing to return to my homeland to be with you, the great Iranian people, at the moment of the triumph of our national revolution. I believe that this day is already close,” he added.

Protests in Iran have been ongoing for the thirteenth day. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), there have been 116 protests in 22 provinces since January 8, of which 20 gathered more than a thousand participants.

According to the internet monitoring project NetBlocks, the country experienced a 36-hour internet shutdown. The foreign ministers of Australia, Canada, and the European Union issued a joint statement condemning the killings and arrests of protesters by Iranian authorities.

Earlier, the Iranian army confirmed its readiness to participate in suppressing the mass protests sweeping the country.
