Pseudo-employees of the GKNB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and National Bank took 22 million soms from a resident of Bishkek

Law enforcement officials urge citizens to be cautious of requests from "security officers" for money transfers



In Bishkek, two suspects involved in fraud amounting to over 22 million soms have been detained. This information was revealed in a press release from the Main Department of Internal Affairs.


According to the provided data, on December 22, 2025, a resident of the city named Ch. G. contacted the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs, reporting that unknown individuals posing as employees of the GKNB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and National Bank deceived her and took a significant sum of money.


The fraudsters convinced the woman to transfer 22 million 130 thousand soms to a bank card via an ATM.


In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.


As a result of operational-search activities conducted by the staff of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs, the identities and whereabouts of the suspects were established: they are T. Zh. (born in 2002) and K. E. (born in 2006). They were taken to the Investigative Service and placed in a temporary detention facility.


Currently, additional measures are being taken to identify other participants in the crime, as well as to collect evidence and clarify all circumstances of the case.


The Main Department of Internal Affairs strongly recommends that citizens exercise caution. Employees of government institutions do not require money transfers to bank cards and do not request personal information over the phone.
