
In Bishkek, a suspect was detained for a series of pickpocketing incidents that occurred on public transport, specifically on bus line No. 135.
A resident of the capital, J. I., reported the theft. She told the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department that on February 5, after boarding bus No. 135 at the Osh market, she traveled to Lavanovsky Street and discovered that her iPhone 16 Pro was missing.
Based on this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 205 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational-search activities, law enforcement agencies detained A. A., who had previously had legal issues and was registered as a pickpocket. He was placed in a temporary detention facility.
The court decided to remand the suspect in custody for two months.
The investigation established that the stolen phone had been sold at the Osh market. During searches at mobile device sales points, the police seized more than 60 phones, including the one reported by the victim.
