Lawyer Asel Argyinbaeva submitted a request for a review of the case, insisting on the annulment of the Supreme Court's decision regarding Mahabat Tajibek kyzy.
After hearing the parties, the judicial panel decided to return the case for a new review to the Lenin District Court and annulled the previous verdict.
It is worth noting that Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained in January 2024 along with ten other members of the Temirov Live team, and they were charged with organizing mass riots. On February 25, 2025, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three of the detained journalists and upheld the decisions of previous instances: Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was sentenced to six years in prison, Azamat Ishenbekov received five years, and Aike Beyshikeeva was placed on probation for three years. Aktilek Kaparov, also detained, was sentenced to three years of probation and did not appeal this decision. The other seven participants in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence of a crime.
