In recent years, there has been a significant update of equipment in the road industry, initiated by President Sadyr Japarov. This update is aimed at improving the quality of road construction and repair, as well as increasing the speed and efficiency of all work.
As reported by Asylbek Intymak uulu, head of the planning, preparation, and acceptance department at the Department of Road Economy under the Ministry of Transport and Communications, important results have been achieved in this area in recent years.
“In 2024, 453 units of specialized equipment were purchased from the budget, including dump trucks, motor graders, bitumen transport vehicles, bulldozers, concrete mixers, and excavators,” he noted.
Additionally, for the first time since gaining independence, at the initiative of the president, 297 units of equipment were purchased from the republican budget in 2022-2023.
In 2025-2026, the arrival of another 48 units of equipment is expected thanks to the support of the Japanese agency JICA, 144 from grant assistance from China, 69 from the World Bank, and 223 from the Korea Development Fund. Thus, the total number of new equipment and machinery received by the ministry in 2023-2026 will amount to 1,234 units,” he added.
According to the ministry, this year significant results are observed in the transport sector: the volume of revenues to the state budget has increased. In the first nine months of 2025, 861 million 192 thousand soms were received from various licenses, fines, and permits, which is significantly more compared to 2024, when this amount was 202 million 219 thousand soms.
This year, 188,075 permits were issued from 41 countries to facilitate trade and economic cooperation. The process of obtaining permits has been fully digitized, eliminating the possibility of human intervention and reducing corruption risks.
It is important to note that in addition to the transport sector, repairs of strategic, republican, and local roads are being carried out using the state budget.
This year, 1,200 kilometers of roads have been built and asphalted, contributing to international transit, improving cargo transportation, economic growth, and tourism development.
The indicators for road construction are growing year by year:
in 2021, 175 km were built,
in 2022 — 488 km,
in 2023 — 673 km,
in 2024 — 802 km.
These achievements are the result of a systematic approach to updating road infrastructure and effective management in this area.
