The Bishkek police, particularly the officers of the Patrol and Post Service, are actively engaged in preventing smoking in public places.

According to the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate, raids are conducted in areas with a high concentration of people, such as public transport stops, parks, underground passages, and courtyards.

During these events, police officers hold conversations with citizens, reminding them of the legislative norms prohibiting smoking in public places, as well as informing them about the possible administrative liability under Article 83 "Smoking tobacco products in unauthorized places" of the Code of Offenses.

A fine of up to 3,000 soms is imposed for violating the rules.

Since the beginning of November, more than 190 protocols have been drawn up, resulting in fines being imposed.
