Today, the Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan, Baktybek Bekbolotov, held a meeting with Samman Tapa, the UNICEF representative in the republic.
According to the press service of the administration, during the discussion, Bekbolotov emphasized that the return of women and children from camps located in Iraq and Syria requires significant resources and coordinated efforts. He noted that the successful implementation of these missions has been made possible thanks to the support of international organizations, particularly UNICEF, which played a central role.
“We highly value UNICEF's experience in the field of child rights protection. Their contribution to preventing the stigmatization and discrimination of children and women returning from conflict zones is especially important,” added Bekbolotov.
Samman Tapa, in turn, expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Kyrgyz government in repatriating citizens from the difficult conditions of camps in Iraq and Syria, noting that these actions serve as an example not only for the region but for the entire world.
