For the first time in Kyrgyzstan, an elite national commissioner for road cycling has been appointed, who received a certificate from the International Cycling Union (UCI). This honorary status was awarded to Evgeny Russo, reports the Cycling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
From November 10 to 13, a course for elite national commissioners was held in Malaysia, where Russo successfully passed the exams and received an international UCI license.
Cycling commissioners play a key role in ensuring compliance with rules, safety during races, and proper organization of competitions. All elite national and international commissioners receive official licenses from the UCI, while regular national specialists are certified by the federation.
Federation representatives noted that the appointment of a commissioner of this level significantly strengthens Kyrgyzstan's human resources potential and opens up new opportunities for hosting tournaments in accordance with international standards.
The structure of UCI commissioners is as follows:
National Commissioner
Elite National Commissioner
International Commissioner Category 3
International Commissioner Category 2
International Commissioner Category 1
UCI Commissioner (Road Elite Panel).
The federation also reminded that citizens aged 25 to 70 can become commissioners. Training is available, and the subsequent career path allows for work at both national and international competitions.
