Vice Mayor of Osh, Nurlan Zakirov, was present at the opening ceremony, along with representatives from various government and sports organizations, international judges, volunteers, and guests from different corners of the world. The competition features the strongest teams representing countries from Central Asia, Europe, and the CIS.
Nurlan Zakirov emphasized the significance of the World Cup for Kyrgyzstan in his address, noting that this event contributes to the development of sports tourism and the strengthening of international relations, as well as enhancing the country's image on the world stage.
International federations noted the high level of trail preparation and tournament organization. "The mountain distance meets international standards and is ready to welcome participants. Ahead of us are intense competitions with challenging technical stages and fierce battles for medals," the organizers added.
The competitions will last several days, during which athletes will have to overcome multi-level mountain routes with elements of mountaineering, rock climbing, and rescue stages. The winners of the World Cup will be determined based on the cumulative results of both team and individual performances.
Representatives of the Federation of Sports Tourism of Kyrgyzstan noted that holding such tournaments helps to popularize active recreation among youth and promotes the country as a promising destination for international sports tourism.
