Today, a series of training sessions began in Kyrgyzstan for representatives of national and regional commissions on assessing adverse events following immunization (AEFI). This was reported by the press service of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The training gathers specialists from the Immunization Program, pharmacovigilance, and the expert commission on AEFI. Participants will familiarize themselves with WHO international standards, methods for investigating AEFI cases, and experiences from other countries, as well as receive practical tools for their work.

The program includes the analysis of clinical cases, group assignments, experience sharing between regions, knowledge testing of participants before and after training, as well as sessions on public information.

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized that developing the skills of experts in analyzing and investigating vaccination side effects is crucial for increasing transparency and public trust in vaccination.

WHO experts noted that regular training for specialists involved in vaccine safety monitoring allows for quicker responses to AEFI cases and strengthens the national immunization program in Kyrgyzstan.

The training sessions are organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis (RCI). The event is taking place from November 10 to 14.
