The spouses currently live in Moscow.

Begayim shared that she was born in 1992 in Bishkek.

“I came to Moscow in 2015 as a migrant. Currently, I am at home with my child. I previously worked as a manager in a food delivery service. I graduated from the Kyrgyz Economic University,” she shared.

Nikolai saw Begayim on her friend's social media page. He liked her, so he started writing to her.

Shalekhov, born in 1993, was born and raised in Moscow.

Nikolai is one year and one day younger than Begayim.

“We dated as a couple for a year, then he proposed. I liked his care, respectful attitude, responsibility, and sense of humor. That’s why I agreed and chose him. My parents had no objections. They understood correctly and welcomed their son-in-law very warmly,” the Kyrgyz woman said.

The newlyweds did not hold a large wedding. After the civil registry office, they celebrated at a restaurant with close friends and family. Later, when they flew to Kyrgyzstan, they met with relatives and even traveled to the small homeland of the Kyrgyz woman’s mother — the village of Komsomol in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region.

Next year, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law plan to fly to Kyrgyzstan.

“It wasn’t difficult to get used to the new life since my mother-in-law lives separately. My husband helped with everything, and I adapted quickly. After getting married, there were many interesting moments. Especially when my husband went to Kochkor, there were quite a few funny stories. One of them stood out — he ran away so he wouldn’t have to watch the sheep being slaughtered,” said B. Alakunova.

N. Shalekhov's family does not adhere to traditions, but he himself is interested in Kyrgyz customs.

Begayim spends all her free time taking care of the child. She tries to take him swimming and to various developmental activities. Starting in September, she plans to enroll the child in kindergarten and return to work.

The couple has many plans for the future. They want to travel the world, see new countries and places.

Nikolai dreams of buying a house on Issyk-Kul. He loves Kyrgyzstan and says, “When we get older, we will move to Kyrgyzstan. I want to spend my old age there.”

They have two children.
