After the appeal from residents of the Sokuluk district, concerned about the condition of the Bishkek — Kara-Balta road, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic provided clarifications.

The agency noted that the reconstruction work on the 52.5-kilometer-long highway was completed in 2022, and the warranty for the completed work expires in 2024.

The project included not only asphalting but also the installation of road signs, lighting, the arrangement of parking spaces, bus stops, and sidewalks. To enhance pedestrian safety, seven underground passages were repaired, and six new ones were built. Additionally, a traffic light and necessary road signs were installed in front of School No. 2.

“The Ministry has organized a special commission involving specialists from various agencies to thoroughly examine the citizens' appeal. The commission will go to the site, conduct a situation monitoring, and take necessary measures. The results of the inspection will be communicated to the public later,” the agency informs.
