Legal firms and immigration companies are reporting a sharp increase in interest from Americans seeking to obtain second passports or residency outside the country. This is reported by CNBC.
A multitude of wealthy U.S. citizens are expressing concerns about potential political and social unrest, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming presidential elections.

The channel emphasizes that discussions about moving abroad after the elections have become commonplace. However, immigration consultants note that this time many wealthy Americans have already begun taking concrete actions.

“We have not seen such high demand as we do now,” said Dominic Volek, head of the group at Henley & Partners, which deals with immigration issues for affluent clients.

According to him, the number of Americans planning to leave the country has increased by at least 30 percent compared to last year, and their share among clients has significantly exceeded that of citizens from other countries.

According to a survey conducted by Arton Capital, 53 percent of millionaires in the U.S. reported a high likelihood of emigration after the elections, regardless of who becomes the winner. The chances of departure are particularly high among young wealthy individuals: 64 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 expressed “very high interest” in obtaining so-called golden visas through investments abroad.

CNBC also notes that for many ultra-wealthy individuals, citizenship in one country has come to be viewed as a financial and personal risk. They seek to diversify their investments by creating “passport portfolios” to minimize country risks. Many of them are also interested in obtaining a foreign passport for travel to regions that may be hostile to the United States.
