Alexander Lukyanov, representing the delegation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), highly praised the level of organization and technological advancement of the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.
He told the Kabar agency that the participation of observers from more than 45 countries underscores the transparency and openness of the electoral process.
Lukyanov noted that there was a friendly atmosphere at the polling stations. “Smiles were on the faces of both the members of the precinct commissions and the voters. This creates a sense of unity among citizens striving to determine the future of their country,” he added.
The observer also pointed out that the Central Election Commission (CEC) provided all necessary conditions for the work of international observers, granting them full access to the polling stations. According to him, the SCO group visited about 20 polling stations throughout the day.
Alexander Lukyanov emphasized that conditions were created for voting by people with limited mobility and individuals with disabilities. “All groups of the population can participate in voting without hindrance, which indicates a high level of organization of the campaign,” he noted.
The observer expressed confidence in the successful conduct of the elections and that the citizens of Kyrgyzstan would be able to elect deputies who will represent their interests in the Jogorku Kenesh for the next five years.
