On November 10, a meeting took place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asein Isaev, and Igor Petrishenko, who represents the observer mission from the CIS and holds the position of First Deputy Secretary General of this organization.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the discussion focused on preparations for monitoring the early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh, as well as future directions for cooperation within the CIS.
Asein Isaev emphasized the importance of the presence of international observers at the elections, noting that Kyrgyzstan has invited experts from various international organizations, including the CIS mission, whose opinions carry significant authority.
He also highlighted the work being done abroad to protect the electoral rights of Kyrgyz citizens who are located or temporarily residing outside the country. In this context, 100 polling stations will be opened in 89 cities across 34 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the USA.
Igor Petrishenko, for his part, noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements in organizing elections, highlighting the use of new technologies and digital solutions that contribute to the transparency and reliability of vote counting and voter registration.
He also informed about the formation of a mission consisting of 150 observers in accordance with the Convention on Democratic Election Standards, which will operate both in Kyrgyzstan and at polling stations in other states, in coordination with local central election commissions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both participants emphasized that cooperation within the CIS contributes to deepening mutual understanding and strengthening good-neighborly relations among the peoples of the region.
