In the USA, companies are refusing discounts for 'Black Friday'

This year, many companies in the USA have decided to forgo the usual sales and discounts associated with 'Black Friday,' which is linked to the introduction of new tariffs on imported goods, reports Bloomberg agency.

Among the brands that have canceled their promotions are Coach, a well-known luxury handbag manufacturer, and Therabody, which produces devices for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The reasons for these companies' decisions vary, but the main factor is rising costs and inflation.

Dan Peskors, head of Upstream Brands, stated that his company sees no point in offering discounts, as the prices for raw materials and components have significantly increased due to the new tariffs.

Sonia Lapinski, a representative of the consulting firm AlixPartners, noted that American retail is facing serious challenges. She added that "after the introduction of import tariffs, almost no company can afford to offer discounts without losing money."

Experts point out that the cancellation of traditional sales on 'Black Friday' may impact sales volumes during the holiday season and change American consumers' shopping habits.
