The National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan has been enriched with a unique artifact — an ancient balbal that was found in the Chui Valley.

According to information from the Ministry of Culture, archaeologist Kubat Tabaldiev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, officially handed over this stone statue, which had been kept in a private collection for many years.

During a meeting with the museum director, Professor Zhyldyz Bakasheva, the need to preserve balbals, the number of which continues to decrease in Kyrgyzstan, was discussed. According to Tabaldiev, this balbal dates back to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age and significantly differs from other exhibits in the museum's collection.

The shape of the eyes, the characteristic pattern of the mustache, and the technique of execution of the statue indicate cultural influences, including later Turkic elements.

Zhyldyz Bakasheva thanked the family of Bektimir Alghozoev for the careful preservation of the artifact over the years, as well as the scholar who transferred it to the state collection.
