The National Historical Museum has been enriched with a new exhibit — a unique balbal that was found in the Chui Valley. The ancient stone idol was donated to the museum by archaeologist and Doctor of Historical Sciences Kubat Tabaldiev, who had kept it in his home for many years. Information about this acquisition was announced by the Ministry of Culture.
During a meeting with Kubat Tabaldiev, the museum director, Professor Zhyldyz Bakashova, emphasized the need to protect balbals and noted their decreasing number in Kyrgyzstan.

Kubat Tabaldiev pointed out that this balbal dates back to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age and has several distinctive features compared to other exhibits in the museum. Its eyes, mustache, and manufacturing details stand out, and there are also elements that relate to later Turkic traditions.

Professor Bakashova thanked the family of Bektemir Alghozhoyev for the long-term preservation of this valuable exhibit, as well as the archaeologist who donated it to the museum. The museum management assured that efforts to protect and promote the historical heritage will continue.
