The National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan participated in the International Council of Museums in Dubai

From November 11 to 17, the ICOM Dubai 2025 museum conference took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the participation of Zhyldyz Bakashova, the director of the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) is a global organization that brings together museum professionals working on the preservation, development, and promotion of cultural and natural heritage. ICOM was founded in 1946 in Paris, France.

The conference gathered museum workers from over 130 countries. The event program included more than 400 presentations, over 100 panel discussions, and 10 plenary sessions, as well as the largest exhibition of museum innovations.

Among the main discussion topics were:

- Social and demographic changes;

- The role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies;

- Preservation of cultural heritage;

- Inclusion in the museum environment;

- Museum diplomacy;

- The impact of museums on social development.

At the session dedicated to artificial intelligence and museums, Zhyldyz Bakashova shared her views on the use of new technologies in museum activities, the preservation of digital archives, and the prospects for virtual exhibitions.

During the forum, she also met with Emma Nardi, the president of ICOM, and Nasir Al Darmaki, the vice president of ICOM and chairman of ICOM UAE, to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation and jointly implementing innovative and inclusive museum initiatives.

The ministry emphasized that the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan has not participated in major international forums in recent years.
