“Naryn Diary” is a black-and-white documentary film created in 1972 at the Kyrgyzfilm studio.

The film was directed by Lithuanian director Algimantas Vidugiris, who, along with a team that included Bolot Tabaldiev and Nikolai Ryshkov, undertook a risky journey down the turbulent Naryn River on a homemade raft.

During the filming, the crew met people who had lived in this region for many years. The film introduces viewers to various characters: shepherds and archaeologists, an elderly akyn and young linemen laying high-voltage lines in the mountains, first-graders from the old village of Toktogul and newcomers to the modern multi-story city of Toktogul, as well as builders of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station.

The film tells the story of the construction of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station.
