In Chuy Region, gravel processing enterprises are polluting rivers and pastures

The press service of the presidential representative in Chuy region reports on the emerging problem of river and pasture pollution in the area.

In the Alamudun district, about ten crushing plants are operating, which, according to local residents, discharge clay waste into nearby water bodies during the washing of gravel, leading to pollution.

As stated in the press service's message, the clay masses, mixing with water, spread along the riverbeds, reaching even the Issyk-Ata district.

“This harms pastures, irrigation, roads, and surrounding areas. Clay deposits hinder the growth of grasses, negatively affecting the condition of pastures. Pollution is also observed in irrigation channels, where waste reaches the Uzun-Kyr rural council and the eastern VBChK canal, creating difficulties for agriculture and the local population,” the documents state.

The presidential representative in Chuy region, Azamat Osmonov, has already familiarized himself with the situation on-site. He instructed the competent state and law enforcement agencies to conduct an inspection of the activities of these enterprises, assess the legality of waste discharge into water bodies, take necessary measures to eliminate violations, and ensure compensation for the damage caused.
