As the New Year approaches, it's time to take stock. The editorial team of Kaktus.media found out at the New Year fair what positive events have occurred in the lives of Kyrgyzstanis this year.

People's responses were diverse — from significant purchases and personal achievements to changes in their inner world and a reassessment of personal values.

One resident of Bishkek shared that the most important thing for her was gaining self-confidence. "I realized that I can do more than I thought. I just decided to be kinder to myself and believe in my abilities. As a result, I found a new job with a salary twice as high," she said.

However, not all respondents consider the outgoing year to be successful. One man noted that due to global world events, he finds it hard to call this year positive. "From my perspective, nothing special happened this year. The war continues, and life is becoming increasingly expensive and complicated," he said.

Many survey participants, on the contrary, shared positive moments. One girl talked about her long-time dream: "I finally bought myself a car — this one," she happily noted.

Others also shared joyful events: "This year I met my love" and "I have changed a lot this year — for the better."

For some, the outgoing year became a time for difficult but necessary decisions. "I got divorced, and this event turned out to be positive for me. Now I pay more attention to myself and work on myself," one woman shared.

There were also family events. "I married off my daughter. Now I have a son-in-law. It was both joyful and exciting," shared a survey participant.
