A new 45-meter flagpole has been installed at the "Dostuk" checkpoint between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and the adjacent area has been transformed into a modern recreation zone. This information was provided by the Osh city administration.

The project was initiated by the mayor of the city, Jenishbek Toktorbaev. Today, a solemn ceremony was held to raise the national flag of the Kyrgyz Republic, after which the flagpole was officially put into operation.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor of the city, the chairman of the city council Bolot Bayetov, deputies, consuls from neighboring countries, and residents of Osh.

It is worth noting that there was previously a gas station on this site, which has been dismantled. On the freed-up territory, landscaping, paving, and the installation of benches were carried out. The idea for the improvement arose after an on-site visit by the mayor, during which he inspected the area.

The city administration emphasizes that the renovation of the area at the checkpoint is aimed at improving the appearance of the border zone and creating a comfortable public space.
