The main events took place at Ala-Too Square, where a concert program featuring local performers was held starting on the evening of December 31. The square was adorned with bright light installations. Despite the rainy and snowy weather, thousands of residents and guests of the capital gathered here by midnight.
On the festive night, security was provided by police and emergency services. According to the Bishkek City Police Department, there were no incidents that disrupted the celebrations. The work of city services was organized in an enhanced mode.
Public transport operated on a modified schedule until 3:00 AM on New Year's Eve.
Although official fireworks funded by the city budget were not held this year, many residents launched fireworks themselves, as seen in numerous social media posts.
