18-year-old cyclist from Shymkent traveled about 8 thousand kilometers to Mecca

The journey lasted almost 50 days


Roland Anatolyev, an 18-year-old resident of Shymkent, undertook an incredible journey by bicycle, covering approximately 8 thousand kilometers to reach the holy sites of Medina and Mecca. His adventure took about 49 days, during which he met kind people willing to help with water, food, and moral support.

The route that Roland took passed through several countries, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. In the final stage, in accordance with local police requirements, he traveled to Medina by car; however, he covered most of the distance by bicycle.

Upon arriving in the holy city, he was welcomed by the organizers of pilgrimage trips, who provided him with comfortable accommodation and rest after the long journey. Photos and videos of his journey are actively shared on social media, where users express their admiration and support for Roland, praising his strength of spirit and faith.
