Kairat Altynbekov, a 21-year-old from Kyrgyzstan, passed away in the USA after nearly five weeks of fighting for his life, which began after a serious traffic accident and subsequent fire. This was reported by Ainur Aipkhanova, the director of the Indiana government cancer registry, on her Instagram page.

With the consent of his parents, on November 26, doctors made the decision to discontinue life support.

It is worth noting that the incident occurred on the night of October 27 in West Lafayette, Indiana, when a Mercedes-Benz crashed into a concrete pole and caught fire. As a result of the accident, two young people died: Chyngyz Sarybaev died at the scene, while 21-year-old Yasin Seidibalaiev later died in the hospital. Kairat, who was also in the car, was taken to a burn center in critical condition with burns covering 77% of his body.

During his hospitalization, doctors performed four surgeries on Kairat; however, his condition remained critical due to severe burns, infections, and other complications.

Ainur Aipkhanova reported that last week medical specialists recommended transitioning to palliative care, but the family insisted on performing a fifth skin graft surgery, which lasted eight hours and was successful, instilling hope for an improvement in his condition.

Unfortunately, a few days later, infections reactivated, and Kairat's condition sharply deteriorated. Despite intensive treatment, doctors informed his parents that his body could no longer cope, which led to their agreement to discontinue treatment.
