The road incident occurred on the night of January 1 on the Bishkek–Torugart highway.
According to information, at 00:50 on January 1, 2023, a 13-year-old boy from the village of Dmitrievka, N.A., was riding his bicycle towards the city of Kant. At that moment, a truck was driving behind him. While overtaking, the truck driver moved closer to the shoulder and hit the cyclist.
Unfortunately, the teenager died at the scene from his injuries.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been opened under Article 312 of the Criminal Code, concerning violations of traffic safety rules.
As a result of operational measures, it was established that the hit-and-run was committed by a red SHACMAN truck, driven by 28-year-old R.B., a resident of the village of Krasnaya-Rechka.
The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
