According to law enforcement agencies, the accident occurred on December 27 at around 11:00 PM on 7 April Street. The driver, R. M., born in 2004, was driving a Hyundai Sonata and was heading south. He struck pedestrian K. A., born in 1995, who was crossing the road from east to west, in front of the "Anel" restaurant.
After the incident, the driver left the scene, but thanks to the prompt actions of the police, he was soon identified and detained. The suspect was taken to the investigative department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek.
The pedestrian died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning violations of traffic safety rules. The driver has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek as a suspect in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Medical examination confirmed that the driver was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
Currently, the vehicle has been placed in a specialized impound lot, and examinations have been appointed, the results of which will determine further procedural decisions.
