According to information posted on the website of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, starting from January 20, 2024, children from Russia under the age of 14 will be prohibited from traveling to countries such as Abkhazia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and South Ossetia using only a birth certificate.

These changes, recorded in federal law, require that children obtain an international passport for trips abroad. However, teenagers over the age of 14 will still be able to travel to the specified countries with their internal passport of the Russian Federation.
