The biometric control system implemented in the capital's airports in Moscow will be expanded to all regions of Russia. This was announced by the city's mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, during his annual report on the work of the Moscow government.

Sobyanin noted that this system serves as a barrier to the entry of individuals who are undesirable in the country, including those who appear on a special control list.

According to available data, over the year of the experiment, about 45,000 people were filtered out, which accounts for approximately 10 percent of all migrants attempting to cross the border.

The success of the experiment has provided the basis for its implementation in other regions of the Russian Federation and the development of similar programs, which will allow for more effective monitoring of the movement of people across the country, both for departure and entry, the mayor of the capital added.
