Since the beginning of December 2024, an experiment has started in Russia to collect biometric data from foreign citizens, which has already allowed the identification of more than 43,000 individuals banned from entering the country for various reasons. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, as conveyed by RT.

Volk noted that this initiative is being implemented at Moscow airports and at the "Mashtakovo" border crossing in the Orenburg region. As part of the experiment, fingerprints and photographs are collected from foreigners, which are then placed in the databases of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“We will continue our work on monitoring the entry, stay, and exit of foreign citizens,” she added.
