On the night of January 6 to 7, when Christians celebrate the Nativity of Christ, Bishop Savvaty of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan conducted a solemn Divine Liturgy at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral. This was reported by representatives of the Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese.

During the liturgy, after the communion verse, Priest Georgy Dvorov presented the Christmas message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia.
Before his sermon, Bishop Savvaty also announced the Christmas message from Metropolitan Vikentiy of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, who heads the Central Asian Metropolitan District.

In his address to the parishioners, Bishop Savvaty emphasized that Christmas is not just a remembrance of an event that took place two thousand years ago, but an important part of the daily spiritual life of every Christian.
“We should celebrate the Nativity of Christ not only once a year but also daily, recreating in our hearts the image of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is necessary to bring Him sacrifices of gratitude, prayers, service, humility, and meekness,” noted the archpastor.

He also urged the faithful to avoid despondency and dissatisfaction during these days, reminding them that in such moments it is important to strive for the joy that comes from serving God.

Additionally, Bishop Savvaty mentioned various social and charitable initiatives that are active in the diocese.
