In the Batken region, on the newly opened highway Sary-Talaa — Zardaly, local residents managed to capture ibex on video. This event has sparked interest and discussion among local ecologists, who note that even with the construction of the road, wild animals continue to inhabit this region, indicating the preservation of the natural environment.

According to data collected at the end of 2025, the population of ibex in the Batken region is 144 individuals. Adult ibex typically move alone or in small groups. In calm conditions, they are active during the day, while in areas with high levels of poaching, they are more likely to hunt at night. Their diet mainly consists of herbaceous vegetation. Ibex reach sexual maturity at approximately 2.5 years, and the breeding season occurs in November-December, when females give birth to one or two offspring.

Among the factors affecting the population of ibex are poaching and harsh winter conditions. Their natural enemies include wolves, snow leopards, and, in some cases, bears.

According to information published by Turmush on December 25, 2025, the construction of the Sary-Talaa–Kyzyl-Tash–Zardaly road, costing 888.9 million soms, has been completed. This event was part of the announcements made during the IV People's Kurultai, which President Sadyr Japarov attended online.

The village of Zardaly is located in the mountains of the Batken district, 110 kilometers from the district center, and has two means of communication — by car and on foot. Previously, in winter, from October to May, traffic on the road was often halted due to snowfalls, and local residents had to traverse 6.2 kilometers along the Kozhesken River on foot or on horseback.

As part of the presidential directive, the road from the village of Sary-Talaa to Kyzyl-Tash was widened from 3-4 meters to 6 meters, and the section from Kyzyl-Tash to Zardaly was completely reconstructed. A 30-meter metal bridge was also built over the Kozhesken River, ensuring stable vehicular communication.

The total length of the new road is 18 kilometers, reducing the distance by 26 kilometers and providing year-round transport access, as snow hardly accumulates in this section.
It is worth recalling that on September 29, 2024, during a meeting with the residents of Zardaly, President Japarov ordered the construction of the road and the provision of electricity to the village, as well as the construction of a small hydroelectric power station.
Previously, the construction of the Sary-Talaa—Kyzyl-Tash—Zardaly road, which is 17.5 km long, was mentioned. The Ministry of Transport reminded that the construction is being carried out following the president's meeting with the population in September 2024. In November 2024, a tender was announced for the construction of the Kyzyl-Tash—Zardaly highway, costing 389.2 million soms.
