At the meeting of the Security Council of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev initiated a review of the current defense doctrine. Relevant information was published by the press service of the head of state.

The statement indicates that it is necessary to update the defense doctrine, which was adopted eight years ago, as well as the national security concept that has been in effect since 1997.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of strengthening the military security of the country in the context of a rapidly changing regional and global situation. The head of state highlighted the need to transition to a systematic and proactive approach in defense policy, aimed at preventing potential risks and threats.
In addition, it was proposed to create a new model of compulsory military service that would provide servicemen with professional skills and real opportunities for employment after demobilization. It is emphasized that every year, 5,000 conscripts will undergo training as part of the "One Million Programmers" and "Five Million Leaders in AI" programs.

Conditions will also be created for servicemen to enroll in higher educational institutions during their service, as well as support for education after demobilization, including compensation for certification costs and the provision of interest-free educational loans.

In addition to this, measures are planned to facilitate the employment of demobilized servicemen, including support for entrepreneurship and providing benefits in job searching.
