In this film, the President of Kyrgyzstan highlighted the significance of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's participation in resolving long-standing territorial disputes between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. According to Japarov, the Uzbek president actively contributed to reaching a compromise, insisting on the necessity to "not miss the moment and move towards mutual agreement" to ensure long-term stability in the region, according to reports from Uzbek media.

During an interview with journalist Aibek Biibosun, Japarov recalled that after the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in April 2021, despite opposition from his entourage, including the chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, he initiated negotiations with Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe. However, this ten-hour discussion did not yield the expected results.

After the failure of the negotiations, Kyrgyzstan began to strengthen its armed forces by acquiring Turkish drones Bayraktar Akıncı and Aksungur.

In September 2022, during a new conflict, the president noted that the military forces of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan had become virtually equal.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized the significant contribution of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in reaching an agreement with Tajikistan. "When we met at summits, I suggested to Rahmon to sit down and discuss the situation. Initially, he refused, but the second time he agreed. The President of Uzbekistan played a key role in convincing us of the need to 'not miss the moment and move towards mutual agreement,' which ultimately led to the resolution of the border dispute," he said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, also noted that Shavkat Mirziyoyev is one of those leaders who bring together the states of Central Asia. "He has always emphasized that Kyrgyz and Tajiks need to reach agreements to stop border conflicts. Otherwise, as he said, no investor or tourist will visit our region. We all carry the suffix '-stan,' and foreigners do not distinguish between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, or Uzbekistan. Therefore, it is important to establish relationships," added the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is worth noting that in March 2025, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon, signed a treaty on the state border. This event resumed the operation of two checkpoints that had been closed since 2021, as well as restored air flights between Bishkek and Dushanbe, Khujand.

In the same month, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan signed a trilateral agreement regarding border crossing points during a meeting of leaders in Khujand. A Friendship stele was ceremonially opened in the area.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev then stated that this agreement would be an important factor for stability and sustainable development in the region, as well as strengthen its international authority. "The borders that once divided us have now turned into bridges of friendship and cooperation," he added.
