According to information from the presidential envoy in the Batken region, the work was carried out on the instructions of the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders — Kamchybek Tashiev and Saymumin Yatimov. In accordance with the approved protocol "Procedure for Inventorying Real Estate," commissions were formed at the regional and district levels for the inventory of objects subject to exchange.
On December 24, 2025, a meeting took place between Baktybek Toksonbaev, the first deputy presidential envoy in the Batken region, and Sultan Rahimzoda, the chairman of the State Committee of Tajikistan for State Property Management. During this meeting, acts of acceptance and transfer of real estate in the villages involved in the exchange were signed.
Tajikistan was transferred various objects, including residential houses, vacant land plots, a shopping center, and an oil and gas well located in the villages of Dostuk and Dөbө in the Kara-Bak district, as well as in other settlements.
On the other hand, Kyrgyzstan accepted for protection from Tajikistan residential houses, land plots, and social facilities located in Isfara and other areas of Tajikistan.

On March 31, a trilateral meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, took place in Khujand, where the Treaty on the Point of Intersection of Borders and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship were signed.
The heads of state noted that the signing of these documents is a symbol of respect for the sovereignty of the countries and an example of constructive dialogue in Central Asia.
During the ceremony of unveiling the stele installed at the point of intersection of borders, the heads of state pressed a button that activated the ceremonial event, which was also attended by the deputy prime ministers of the three countries.
The stele symbolizes the friendship of peoples and a new era of cooperation, trust, and good neighborliness between the states after the resolution of border issues.
