New data on the demographic situation, migration, and life expectancy in the EAEU countries was presented by the Eurasian Economic Commission in the report "Demography in Numbers. Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union."

According to the study, the largest population among the Union countries is recorded in Russia, where 146.1 million people live. This is followed by Kazakhstan with 20.2 million, Belarus — 9.1 million, Kyrgyzstan — 7.2 million, and Armenia — 3.07 million.

The expected life expectancy in the Union countries shows a positive trend: in 2021, it ranged from 71 to 73 years, and it is projected to increase to 72-79 years by 2024.

The urban population accounts for almost three-quarters of the total number of residents in the EAEU countries, averaging 72.5% of the entire population, while 27.5% live in rural areas.

The migration dynamics in the five Union countries have also undergone changes, especially in Armenia. In 2020, 36,577 people arrived in the country, while 33,203 left. However, in 2024, the situation changed dramatically: 80,996 people came to Armenia, while only 2,527 left.

Negative migration dynamics are only observed in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In 2020, 856,319 people arrived in Kazakhstan, while 874,037 citizens left the country.

In Kyrgyzstan, 34,275 arrivals were recorded in 2020, but 69,136 people left the country. Nevertheless, in 2024, Kyrgyzstan managed to increase its population by 14,669 new residents, while departures amounted to only 3,461.

As of 2024, the total population of the EAEU countries reached 185,870,700 people.
